Salmon have perhaps suffered the most in the rush to dam nearly all rivers in California. Due to the decline in their populations, human intervention became necessary At the Feather River Fish Hatchery, Salmon are killed during spawning operations. Their spawn will be incubated and then raised in the hatchery pools until they are large enough to release into the wild above the Oroville dam.
