Surf: Saviors & Salvation 24 images Created 14 Jun 2024
Since 2019, through a combination of assignments and personal projects, I've followed two distinct threads of surf culture:
The Big Wave Risk Assessment Group, founded after the death in 2011 of big wave surfer Sion Milosky, by his fellow surfers. The goal is to improve ocean safety through training.
Rooted in ancient healing practices, The Surf Therapy Movement uses the energy of the ocean, the power of emersion and the clinical practices of group therapy to bring physical and mental relief to a diverse and rapidly growing demographic of people around the world. Children with autism, veterans with PTSD or amputations, women coping with sexual violence, and many others groups.
